URGENT: Message to District B Voters!
Friends,
Welcome to our campaign website. My name is Ryan
Mulvey and I hope to earn your vote this June 3rd.
Unfamiliarity with the problems of modern student life
among members of the current Board, as well as the lack
of unbiased perspectives, has hindered the development of
any clear sense of vision for the San Diego Community
College District. With all the Trustees being either
professional educators or union activists, I see little, if any,
accountability to the taxpayer. And, who is the advocate
for the student, parent, and employer?
I am intimately aware of the concerns of the modern
student, his needs, and the failings of our secondary
educational institutions. I know the concerns or parents
and the qualities private sector employees are looking for
in potential employees. As your Trustee, I would be
prepared, and proud, to fight for reform in the District and
to work for the improvement of the community college
experience.
Over the past three terms, despite increased revenue
from taxes and state bonds, student services has suffered,
and capital development has been slow. Yet, wages and
union benefits have increased $7 million dollars since
2002-2003. The policies and interests which have
allowed this are what plague our community colleges.
Together, we can bring common sense and efficiency to a
stagnant and blind board. Together, we can win in June!
Please click on "Vision" and "About" to learn more about
me and my candidacy. And, please feel free to contact me
with any questions by clicking on "Contact." I hope to
count on your vote come June 3rd.
